Step-by-step guide
- Open Settings > Templates Click Settings in the left-hand menu, then click Templates.
- Review System Documents The System Documents tab lists all client-facing document templates: Quote Template, Variation Quote Template, Purchase Order Template, Invoice PDF Template, Colour Selection Report, and Building Specification Report. Click any row to download or replace the template file.
- Configure Pricebook Categories & Locations Click the Pricebook Categories & Locations tab. The lower table lists build categories (Single Storey, Double Storey, Acreage, Split Level, Duplex). Click Add to create a new category. The top table is for geographic locations — click Add to define regions if needed.
- Set up Schedule Templates Click Schedule Templates and click Add to create a new template. Name it, then add the schedule stages that will auto-populate when a job uses this template.
- Configure Cost Codes Click Settings > Cost Codes. Cost codes link purchase orders and bills to budget categories. Click Add to create a new code (e.g. 010: Contour Survey, 012: Soil Test).
- Set Builders Margin & GST In Settings > My Company, set your Default Builders Margin (%) and GST (%). These apply to all new proposals and price books automatically.
Important: Template files must be in .docx format. Download the existing template first to see the merge-field structure before replacing it.
